75th Independence Day - Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV CELEBRATION

REPORT

As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations 2022, in commemoration with 75 years of Indian Independence, Ramakrishna Mission, Sitanagaram / Vijayawada conducted different cultural competitions i.e. Essay Writing (2 topics), Elocution (2 topics), Poetry writing, Painting and Yogasanas (7 competitions as per the guidelines of Belur Math) among students from VI to X std. of different schools in Tadepalli, Mangalagiri Mandals and Vijayawada in the state of Andhra Pradesh between the dates 08-07-22 and 15-08-22.

Overall 1507 students (Boys – 623, Girls – 884) from 15 schools participated in these competitions. All the participants were given a book “Bharata Jathiki Naa Hitavu” (Swami Vivekananda – His call to the Nation) (worth Rs.15/-) free of cost for general reference.

All the students who appeared for Essay writing and poetry writing competitions were provided with answer paper booklets and all the students who attended for Painting competitions were provided with A4 size canvas sheets, poster colours and brushes.

Five prizes per each competition, overall thirty five prizes, were awarded to the
student winners in the form of books worth Rs.500/- each. One hundred consolation prizes were awarded in the form of a book “Naa Bharatam – Amara Bharatam” (My India – The India Eternal) (worth Rs.35/- each) to a few more students who performed well. A certificate of appreciation was given to the prize winners and to all the participants. A laminated Swami Vivekananda photo consists of Swamiji’s quotation was given away to all the participated schools as a token of encouragement for their participation in these competitions.

Independence Day celebrations (15-08-2022)

The 76th Independence Day and the prize distribution function was celebrated in Ramakrishna Mission High school campus. Revered Swami Hridanandaji Maharaj,
Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Sitanagaram / Vijayawada hoisted the National Flag at 8:45 am., followed by National Anthem and patriotic songs. After
Deepojwalana one of the teachers welcomed the monks of the Ramakrishna order, the chief guest – Smt. K.G.V. Saritha, SP, Women protection cell, NRI narcotic cell, Andhra Pradesh, the teachers, staff, guests and the students. The two student winners in the elocution competition have given their talks.

Revered Swami Hridanandaji Maharaj and Smt. K.G.V. Saritha addressed the gathering with valuable message.

The participants were informed the details of the competitions before the prize distribution. The prizes were distributed to the student winners in different competitions by the chief guest. Altogether, the participants were nearly 400. At the end snacks were distributed to all.
